This page contains four of what I call kinship graphs.
These graphs convey a very large amount of information about ones ancestry-
in this case mine - on one sheet of standard-size paper. The data
contained on these may hold interest only for those kin of mine, however
the concept of these graphs may interest non-kin visitors.
My paternal ancestry originates in Laichingen, a
small city between Stuttgart and Ulm in Southern Germany. The graphs
which follow will indicate how far back that ancestry reaches. The
map below should give you some bearings as to where you are in So.
Germany, but most importantly will show the approximate distances and directions
between Laichingen, Feldstetten and Mundingen, those communities where
my Schwenk ancestors lived before my great-grandfather John Schwenk left
this region in 1867 to settle in NE Missouri.
Width of map about 20 miles. Stuttgart is ca. 20 mi.
NNW of Dettingen.
Stuttgart is the capital city of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg
in S. Germany.
Heinrich Christof Schwenk
above is my 8th Cousin. He and his family have become dear friends of mine
and other Schwenk relatives in America since 6/95 when we discovered him
in Laichingen.

A tip to newbies: To save any of these
graphics, click (or right click) on a graphic, then follow the instructions
in the drop-down window. In this way, you can have these graphic files
on your own harddrive.
